Due to the numbers taking part the starts are all staggered in a coloured wave system, this helps to stop congestion on the at times narrow course. With the emphasis of the day being on family and fun there are no recorded results just the satisfaction of knowing you’ve ran for a good cause!
The run itself was amongst the trees and fields along the outskirts of the Newcastle Racecourse and the last mile saw the mini runners joining in the run. Many of the kids seemed entertained throughout the course by the many muddy puddles caused by the recent downpours and were met at the finish by the Metro Radio Stage.
All finishers received an event t-shirt, medal and the famous Greggs goody bag with sausage roll and gingerbread man.
A great day out for the family.
