The Parkruns have been great for me, in fact all people like me. There are so many runners out there of different shapes and sizes who do the Parkruns as a kind of step of from what we normally do whilst not quite taking the plunge into 'proper racing'.
I'm not a fast runner but I dont want to be. I run because I love it and love the way my fitness has gradually improved. So is it really time to join a running club? Should I become a 'harrier'? Well, yes! Why not. I already look at this website every other day and have started buying Runners World so why not give in and admit the fact that I love running.
Basically my story is that no matter what your level is, no matter why you run or how far you do, running gives you a channel to unleash your competitive nature in a friendly way. If you are just a fun runner then it doesnt matter but if you stick at it and want more then go for it. Progression is great and should be welcomed. I have spoken to the Secretary at my local club and will be there on Tuesday.
