Paul from Newburn likes to run along the paths and tracks at Newburn, which takes in part of the Newburn River Run.
I start at the BR car-park in Wylam and head due east hugging the river path to Newburn Bridge. I cross the bridge and turn left past the Boathouse pub and head west back to Wylam along the river path and the old railway line.
This run is flat and easy on the legs but can be used for reps and time trials, Elswick Harriers also use it for their River Run Race in June.
I tend to finish off with a pint at the Boathouse in Wylam or coffee and teacakes at Daves coffee shop, or just watch the river flow.
